Mother Charged with Murder in Daughter’s death

COLUMBUS, ohio – A mother is facing murder charges after police found her 3-year-old daughter dead inside a home in south Columbus.

Police were called to the home in the 1400 block of Orson Drive around 5:30 p.m.Wednesday. Officers attempted to revive the child until Columbus Division of Fire personnel arrived adn transported her to a hospital, were she was pronounced dead, according to a police report.

The child has been identified as Cassidy Sakoulos. Her mother, 41-year-old Sharon Sakoulos, is in custody and charged with murder. Court documents state that during an interview with detectives, Sharon Sakoulos admitted to suffocating her daughter and said she intended to kill her.
