Team/Role Overview

This SP Trade Monitoring role sits in the First Line of Defence and focuses on monitoring trading activity for potential market abuse. The opportunity is within the Global Markets Non-Financial Risk group and more specifically within Conduct Risk. Predominantly operating trade surveillance within the Spread Products buisness, but there will be the close interaction with teams covering other asset classes (Equities, Rates, commodities, and FX). Understanding of MAR (Market Abuse Regulation) related behaviours through trading experience, compliance, risk, or other related business roles will be very important, but detailed knowledge of the Banks systems would compensate (e.g. SP/Rates Middle Office).

Based in New York and reporting to the Head of GSP Transaction Monitoring, the triumphant candidate will provide thorough support and coverage for the hiring manager.

Working within a team of former traders who can provide guidance and training on market behaviours and how to triage alerts. This will lead to infrequent but credible challenge of Supervisors via escalation of thoroughly researched and conclusive reports.

What you’ll do

* Actively analysing and dealing with market abuse alerts generated.
* Support scoping, design, and implementation of the trade monitoring to provide risk-based coverage of market abuse/manipulation and rogue trading behaviours globally ensuring compliance to local rules and regulations.
* Collaborate with other internal areas including Legal, Compliance, Operations, Technology and Business Management to assist with the delivery of required controls.
* Support data sourcing and data quality processes for transaction monitoring, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to review data quality issues and remediation

What we’ll need from you

* Relevant work experience in financial services in Spread Products(Credit and Securitized products) Trading, Middle Office or Surveillance.
* MS Excel,SQL,Python,or other C based coding a plus
* Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to see the big picture whilst giving high attention to critical details.
* Ability to develop and implement strategy and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

* 5-10 years’ experience in credit related middle office, surveillance, risk management and/or regulatory compliance in one or more of the following risk disciplines: technology risk, business continuity, operational risk, supplier risk, or audit and controls.
* Project management and governance experience with demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed critical milestones.
* Must have outstanding leadership,communication,and influencing skills as this leader will work with senior leaders,and audit partners on a regular basis.
* Ability to foster working relationships
