The Traffic Stop and Pursuit
According to arrest affidavits from the Florida Highway Patrol, troopers attempted to pull over a Hyundai Sonata driven by 37-year-old Ashley Nicole Jackson for a traffic infraction. Instead of yielding, Jackson accelerated and refused to stop, leading law enforcement on a chase through Pinellas County roads. Investigators stated that Jackson reached high speeds while weaving through traffic before losing control of the sedan. The pursuit concluded when the Hyundai crashed in Largo, according to state troopers.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Following the crash, troopers took Jackson into custody at the scene. Jail records show she was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on multiple charges, including fleeing and eluding law enforcement at high speed, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and resisting an officer without violence. State court records indicate she is being held on a bond set during her initial appearance. Prosecutors filed formal charges in the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court, where her next court date is pending.
