Stanley Hunt, Financial Planner and Philanthropist, Dies at 59

Stanley Karl Hunt, a Certified Financial Planner and founder of the Empowering Bright Futures Foundation, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, in North Wales, Pennsylvania, at the age of 59. Hunt dedicated his life to helping others achieve their financial goals and ensuring access to education for underprivileged students.

Early Life and Education

Born on August 29, 1966, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Hunt spent his formative years in Austin, Texas, graduating from John H. Reagan High School. He pursued higher education at Tarleton State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in both Chemistry and Physics in 1989. Dignity Memorial. Career in Financial Planning

Hunt began his career in pharmaceutical sales, working with Abbott Labs, Allergan, and Merck. However, he discovered his true passion in financial planning, becoming a Certified Financial Planner and serving as an investment advisor with Smith Barney and Legg Mason. He ultimately joined Woodwell Asset Management as Vice President, where he excelled at guiding clients toward their financial objectives.

Empowering Bright Futures Foundation

Perhaps Hunt’s most significant legacy is the Empowering Bright Futures Foundation. Through a substantial bequest, the foundation will provide opportunities for hardworking, underprivileged students to pursue a college education. This commitment reflects Hunt’s deep belief in the transformative power of education.

Personal Interests and Affiliations

Hunt was an avid outdoorsman with a love for adventure. He enjoyed hiking, running, cycling, camping, whitewater rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, and hunting. Family and Funeral Arrangements

Hunt was preceded in death by his mother, Zelma Hunt, and his nephew, 2Lt Andrew J. Hunt, US Army. He is survived by his father, Franklin, Sr., brothers Kurt and Franklin, Jr., and his wife Donna, as well as his nephew Major Kyle Hunt, US Army, wife Stephanie, and their children.

The funeral service will be held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1404 Armstrong-Derry Rd, Waelder, TX 78959 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on March 14, 2026, with interment to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
