Star Wars actor John Boyega is married and expecting his first child with his wife, he revealed in an interview published by The Guardian. The 34-year-old actor, currently promoting his BBC documentary Damilola: The Untold Story, shared the personal news while discussing his life and career.
Two Years of Marriage in Private
Boyega revealed that he has been married for nearly two years, pointing to his wedding band during the interview. He noted that the ceremony took place in an intimate setting that reminded him of Braveheart, avoiding a large traditional Nigerian celebration for the time being. “I would very much like to throw a wedding party,” Boyega told The Guardian, adding that he wants to celebrate an established union rather than just a beginning.
Expecting a Son With His Wife
The couple is currently awaiting the birth of their first child together, a son. Boyega’s partner also has a son from a previous relationship. “My life in terms of family is completely, completely fulfilled,” Boyega said, according to The Guardian. “The timing was just perfect.” He stated that his goal as a father is to be present, consistent, and full of love.

The personal announcements accompanied Boyega’s promotional work for Damilola: The Untold Story, a BBC documentary centering on the murder of a childhood friend when Boyega was ten years old. Boyega worked closely on the project, which examines the tragic event and its lasting impact on his outlook on fatherhood and life decisions.
