Starbucks Corporation and Suntory Beverage & Food Limited will roll out Japan’s first exclusive Starbucks vending machines nationwide starting in mid-September 2026, according to official company announcements. The initiative brings ready-to-drink coffee products into dedicated dispensing units sporting the brand’s signature green and black colors alongside the iconic siren logo.
Rollout Details and Product Lineup
The vending machines will feature four distinct ready-to-drink products distributed sequentially across Suntory’s nationwide network, alongside the dedicated Starbucks-exclusive machines. According to the announcement, the product lineup includes Coffee Signatures Black, which utilizes Espresso Roast Beans. That offering launches Tuesday, September 15, as the only ready-to-drink beverage in Japan from the brand to use those specific beans for an aromatic flavor profile.
Additional items arriving on September 15 include a redesigned package for My RETREAT® Caramel Macchiato, combining sweet caramel and rich milk with selected coffee. The short can coffee series expands with My COFFEE TIME™ Black, utilizing Arabica beans to reduce bitterness and astringency, and My COFFEE TIME™ Caffè Latte, balancing dark roast coffee with milk.
Design and Brand Experience
The physical units are built around the brand’s signature aesthetic. According to corporate design specifications, the machines use sophisticated black and green tones, featuring the siren logo prominently displayed on the side. The front panel carries the message “Starbucks anytime, anywhere” alongside imagery of consumers enjoying the beverages, designed to recreate the in-store atmosphere in an automated retail format.

Strategic Impact in Japan
The collaboration deepens an existing retail partnership between Starbucks and Suntory in Japan.
