Starbucks’ Hannah Montana Drink: Raspberry Flavor She’d Hate?

Starbucks’ “Secret Popstar Refresher” Celebrates 20 Years of Hannah Montana—With a Raspberry Twist

Starbucks has launched a limited-time “Secret Popstar Refresher” to coincide with the 20th-anniversary celebration of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, available through the Starbucks app’s secret menu. The drink features a strawberry açaí base, raspberry cold foam, and raspberry syrup.

However, the raspberry flavoring has sparked a playful debate among fans, as it references a memorable storyline from the show’s first season. In the episode, Miley Stewart, the character played by Miley Cyrus, experiences a negative reaction to raspberry-scented perfume due to a childhood incident involving a raspberry-pie-eating contest.

Social media users quickly pointed out the irony, with many expressing amusement that Hannah Montana, who disliked raspberries, would seemingly inspire a raspberry-flavored drink. One user posted on X, “RASPBERRY COLD FOAM?!? did @Starbucks forget this important arc in Hannah Montana?!?” Another commented, “I’m crying out of every flavor in the world, Starbucks chose the one where there’s an entire episode based around the fact that Miley/Hannah hates it.”

Starbucks acknowledged the connection on Instagram, stating, “For the fans who remember the raspberry saga, this one’s for you,” while Disney Channel’s official account added, “the raspberry lore lives on!”

Celebrating Two Decades of “Hannah Montana”

The release of the Secret Popstar Refresher coincides with the premiere of the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special on Disney+ and Hulu on March 24. The special features an interview with Miley Cyrus, hosted by Alex Cooper, and includes never-before-seen archival footage and recreations of iconic sets, such as the Stewart family living room and Hannah Montana’s closet.

Miley Cyrus reflected on the show’s lasting impact in a recent Variety article, stating, “It’s not just a TV show… I spot daily how important Hannah is to people.”

The Secret Popstar Refresher will be available through the Starbucks mobile app until April 5, according to a Starbucks statement.
