Starlux Airlines Launches First Direct Flights to Busan, South Korea

Taiwan’s Starlux Airlines is expanding its network with the launch of direct flights to Busan, South Korea, from both Taipei (Taoyuan International Airport) and Taichung International Airport. The new routes mark the airline’s first scheduled services to the country and are set to commence on June 1, 2026.

Expanding Air Links Between Taiwan and South Korea

The launch of these routes signifies a strategic move by Starlux to strengthen its presence in the Northeast Asian market. The airline will operate one round-trip flight per day between Busan and Taipei, and between Busan and Taichung Korea Herald. This expansion aims to provide Taiwanese travelers with more convenient access to South Korea’s second-largest city and a popular tourist destination.

Fleet and Service Details

The Taipei/Taoyuan – Busan route will be serviced by Airbus A321neo aircraft, configured with a total of 188 seats. The cabin layout includes 8 seats in Business Class and 180 seats in Economy Class The Traveler. Ticket sales commenced on February 25, 2026.

Starlux’s Growing Network

These new Taiwan-South Korea routes add to Starlux’s existing network of 37 routes to 31 cities in North America and Asia Taipei Times. The airline is also preparing for its first service to Europe, with Prague scheduled to be added to its destinations on August 1, 2026.

Competition on the Route

Starlux Airlines will be competing with several other carriers already operating flights between Taiwan and Busan, including China Airlines, Air Busan, Korean Air, Tigerair Taiwan, Jeju Air, EVA Air, Easter Jet, and Jin Air.
