Stefano De Martino Jokes About Sanremo Festival as Contestant Moreno Loses Big on Affari Tuoi

Stefano De Martino’s game show Your Business on Rai 1 delivered a night of high-stakes drama on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, combining lighthearted banter about the upcoming Festival di Sanremo with a devastating finish for the evening’s main contestant. As reported by Libero, the episode ran with a slightly extended schedule up to 21:45, squeezing the usual broadcast window and prompting a brief schedule adjustment for the following fiction series All the love that remains.

The contestant taking center stage was Moreno, described by the program as “il posatore di marmo più sexy di Saint-Vincent,” a 64-year-old marble layer from Saint-Vincent in the Valle d’Aosta who is married to Michela and has three children. He played alongside his son Manuel, a snowboarding instructor and teacher. After waiting through 24 episodes as a pack holder, Moreno drew box number 10. De Martino immediately seized on the contestant’s deep baritone voice, turning the studio presentation into an impromptu musical routine accompanied by Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World,” while DiLei noted that the host even tangled himself in a telephone cord during the playful segment.

De Martino Jokes About Sanremo While Moreno Loses Money

The playful atmosphere in the studio quickly drew comments regarding the host’s future career moves. DiLei noted that comedian Herbert Ballerina chimed in during the broadcast to remind De Martino of his upcoming engagement in Liguria, poking fun at his future role at the Festival di Sanremo 2027. De Martino played along, walking across the stage with an exaggerated director’s stride and jokingly offering to place the “Dottore” in the Sanremo orchestra to ring small bells.

Behind the jokes, however, Moreno’s game unraveled rapidly. According to DiLei, after turning down an early offer of 34,000 euros from the Dottore—following early box openings that revealed zero euros in the Basilicata box, Tommasino in the Tuscany box number 15, one euro in Sardinia, and 50,000 euros in the Puglia box number 7, alongside a 75,000-euro prize—the contestant suffered a catastrophic losing streak. In the span of just three turns, Moreno eliminated the game’s three largest remaining prizes: 100,000 euros in Piedmont, 200,000 euros in box number 6 from Basilicata, and 300,000 euros in box number 18. Following a subsequent refusal of the Dottore’s offer of 5,000 euros for five turns, the game narrowed down in the final stages to four remaining pacchi—two blue and two red—housing 20 and 50 euro values on one side, and 20,000 and 30,000 euro values on the other. “Comunque ragazzi una tripletta così è un record. In un minuto avete fatto fuori 600mila euro,” De Martino remarked on air, stunned by the sequence.

Missed Dreams in Polynesia and Upcoming Schedule Breaks

Left with only 30,000 euros in the red boxes alongside lower blue values, Moreno shared his personal aspiration with the studio audience: winning enough money to take his wife to Polynesia. To salvage the evening, he pinned his hopes on the “Regione Fortunata” phase, selecting Lazio for 100,000 euros and Emilia-Romagna for 50,000 euros. The winning region, however, turned out to be Tuscany, leaving Moreno to return home empty-handed despite receiving warm applause from the audience for his sportsmanship.

Fans of the Rai 1 program will face a few interruptions in the coming weeks. DiLei reported that Your Business will pause its regular broadcast schedule on November 12, 2026, for the Italy-France football match, and again on November 15, 2026, for the Belgium-France match.
