If your still holding onto Belgian francs, you need to act quickly. The National Bank of belgium is setting a firm deadline: after December 31, 2024, these notes will become worthless. This impacts anyone who hasn’t already exchanged their currency for euros.

For decades, Belgian francs were the official currency. Belgium adopted the euro in 2002, but the National Bank continued to allow the exchange of francs for euros. Now, that period is ending.

Where to Exchange: You can exchange your francs at most Belgian bank branches. However, it’s wise to call ahead and confirm they offer this service, as not all branches do.
