Storey County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Three in Vehicle Theft and Drug Possession Case

RENO, NV — On March 2, 2026, deputies with the Storey County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) arrested three California residents after a traffic stop on USA Parkway within the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. The incident began with the interception of a stolen vehicle and led to the discovery of illegal drugs and burglary tools.

Details of the Arrest

At approximately 10:51 a.m., SCSO deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle later determined to be stolen from California. The driver and two passengers were safely detained. A subsequent investigation revealed the presence of between 1 and 20 pounds of marijuana, burglary tools, and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

According to the SCSO, one of the individuals initially claimed they were taking the vehicle for a recreational trip, and had picked up companions along the way. However, the vehicle’s true owner confirmed they did not know any of the suspects.

The Arrested Individuals and Charges

All three individuals are residents of Stockton, California, and have been transported to the Storey County Detention Center. They face the following charges:

  • Thomas Clark III (60 years old): Possession of a stolen motor vehicle (NRS 205.273.1), possession of controlled substances (less than 14 grams), possession of 1 to 20 pounds of marijuana, possession of burglary tools, paraphernalia, and driving without a valid license.
