350,000 Indonesians Die From Stroke Each Year: Health Ministry Reveals

Jakarta – Over 350,000 Indonesian citizens die from stroke annually,according to Deputy Minister of Health,Prof. Dante.

Prof. Dante made this statement at the launch of Jakarta Stroke Alert 2026, a program designed to speed up stroke emergency care. The launch coincided with the commemoration of National Health Day in Jakarta.

He stressed the important impact of stroke, not only in terms of fatalities but also long-term disabilities. “Stroke causes more than 350 thousand deaths every year,” he stated on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

He further explained that those who survive a stroke face a high risk of lasting disability, making rapid treatment crucial.
