On the weekend of January 31st and February 1st, 2026, the DTB Gymnastics Congress took place in the halls of the German Gymnastics Federation in Frankfurt am Main – and thus the DTB’s largest training event in the field of competitive sports. This year the congress had a very special sign: a tenth anniversary and at the same time a premiere, as coaches from all four Olympic gymnastics sports of the German Gymnastics Federation came together for the first time.
In addition to male and female gymnastics, trainers from rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline gymnastics were also invited in 2026. This meant that the gymnastics congress was used for the first time as a cross-sport platform to further strengthen professional exchange and joint development in top Olympic sports.
The event impressed with a diverse and practical program with comprehensive and sport-specific content. Together with the head and national trainers of the four disciplines, current topics from training and competition were addressed in a practice-oriented manner. A special highlight were the sport-specific units, in which federal squad athletes such as the 2025 European champion Karina Schönmeier were involved and provided valuable insights into the requirements of top-class sport.
While the content in male and female gymnastics was again successfully offered in a hybrid format, participation for coaches in rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline gymnastics only took place on site in Frankfurt. The personal exchange in the halls of the DTB, the high level of participation and the positive response from all participants made it clear: even after ten years, the gymnastics congress is a central component for quality assurance and further development in German competitive sports.

After a successful start, the DTB Gymnastics Congress, which traditionally takes place between mid-January and early February, will also be offered next year as a training event for all four Olympic sports.
