Sugababes Announce 2026 Album, Hint at Collaboration with PinkPantheress, and Advocate for Social Justice

The Sugababes are gearing up for new music in 2026, with plans for an album and a potential collaboration with rising star PinkPantheress. The group also reaffirmed their commitment to using their platform to speak out against injustice, as highlighted during their performance at the ‘Trans Mission’ charity concert.

Performance at ‘Trans Mission’

On Wednesday, March 11, the Sugababes took the stage at Wembley Arena as part of the ‘Trans Mission’ show, organized by Olly Alexander and Glyn Fussell of Mighty Hoopla. The event, dubbed “A Night of Solidarity For A Lifetime Of Change,” aimed to raise funds for the Solid Law Project and the transgender charity Not a Phase.

The lineup included a diverse range of artists, such as Wolf Alice, Beth Ditto, Adam Lambert, Kae Tempest, Kate Nash, MNEK, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Sir Ian McKellen. The Sugababes performed their classic hits “Overload” and “About You Now.”

Commitment to Social Justice

The group emphasized the importance of using their voice to advocate for change. Keisha Buchanan stated, “The more popular you are, the more you should be using your voice to bring awareness to the injustice in the world. I think it’s pretty selfish if you don’t.” Siobhán Donaghy added that the band has always been about “unity,” bringing people together, and being authentic.

Potential Collaboration with PinkPantheress

The Sugababes revealed they recently collaborated with PinkPantheress on a remix of one of their older songs, allowing them to add new verses. Buchanan expressed their desire to work with the artist again, praising her talent and recent success, including reaching Number One in the US.

New Music on the Horizon

While remaining tight-lipped about specific details, the Sugababes confirmed that new music is planned for release in 2026, alongside “a few surprises.” This follows the release of their standalone singles “Weeds” and “Jungle” last year. The group is now operating independently under their own label, The Orchard.

Beyond the musical performances, the ‘Trans Mission’ concert featured powerful moments from guest speakers, including Sir Ian McKellen reciting Shakespeare and Caroline Litman sharing a moving tribute to her transgender daughter.
