Šulc made his mark in the 25th minute when he deflected Alfonso Moreira’s cross shot in front of goalkeeper Anthony Lopes. Thanks to his goal, Lyon won their twelfth consecutive competitive match and for the first time since May 2018 they have won six league games in a row.
Lyon’s game was not complicated by the red card for Brazilian Endrick in the 61st minute. After being sent off, Nantes kept the ball more often but failed to score and lost for the fourth time in a row in the league.
Forward Esteban Lepaul gave the visitors from Rennes the lead in the 8th minute with the tenth goal of the season. Even before halftime, however, Odsonne Édouard equalized, who overpowered the defenders in a fight and beat the debuting 20-year-old goalkeeper Mathys Silistrie.
