Sutter Health opened a 2,156-square-foot urgent care clinic at 240 King St. in San Francisco, marking the health system’s second walk-in facility in the city. The new Mission Bay location operates seven days a week to treat non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries close to Oracle Park.
Sutter Health Expands San Francisco Footprint With Mission Bay Urgent Care
The new clinic at 240 King St. opened to provide same-day medical evaluation for residents, workers, and visitors in Mission Bay. According to Sutter Health, the facility includes four exam rooms, portable X-ray equipment, and laboratory services. The site operates from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. Christina Oh, Sutter Health’s chief operating officer, stated that the location gives people another accessible way to receive quick care close to where they live and work.
Services and Network Integration at the King Street Facility
Medical staff at the Mission Bay location treat common non-emergency conditions such as infections, sprains, and minor fractures. Liz Armstrong, CEO of Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation – South, noted that the site builds on a longstanding Sutter presence in the neighborhood. When patients require additional medical attention, the clinic connects them directly to primary care, specialists, and imaging services across the broader Sutter Health network. Dr. Jonathan Lee, chair of the Primary Care Service Line for Sutter West Bay Medical Group, emphasized that urgent care forms an essential part of the health system’s care continuum.
Regional Growth Strategy and Neighborhood Development
The King Street opening advances Sutter Health’s broader expansion of same-day care networks across Northern California. The organization currently operates more than 40 urgent care centers and targets exceeding 50 locations by 2030. This launch follows Sutter’s first San Francisco urgent care opening at 55 2nd St. in the Financial District in November 2025. Concurrently, the surrounding Mission Bay neighborhood has experienced substantial commercial and residential development, integrating housing, retail, and major research facilities alongside sports destinations like Oracle Park. Carolin Delker, vice president of Sutter’s Urgent Care Service Line, explained that the clinic provides a convenient local alternative for patients whose medical needs cannot wait for scheduled appointments.
