System of a Down and Faith No More will embark on a stadium tour across Australia and New Zealand in January and February 2027, according to official promoter announcements from TEG Live. The upcoming run marks System of a Down’s first live performances in the region since 2012, when the band appeared at the Soundwave Festival, and brings Faith No More back for the first time since 2015.
Tour Dates and Venue Schedule
The 2027 tour features four stadium dates across Australia and New Zealand, kicking off in late January and running through early February. According to TEG Live, the confirmed schedule includes:
- Jan. 22, 2027: Sydney, NSW — Accor Stadium
- Jan. 27, 2027: Melbourne, VIC — Marvel Stadium
- Feb. 1, 2027: Brisbane, QLD — Suncorp Stadium
- Feb. 7, 2027: Wellington, NZ — Hnry Stadium
The announcement followed a week of promotional teasers in major cities. According to regional reports, murals featuring System of a Down’s hand symbol appeared in Melbourne and Sydney on Friday, July 24, while a light projection displaying Faith No More’s logo was spotted in Brisbane on the same evening.
Ticket Sales and Presale Information
General public tickets for all four stadium dates go on sale Friday, July 31, with staggered start times across the respective markets, as announced by TEG Live. Fans seeking early access can utilize a mailing-list subscriber artist presale launching on July 28, followed by a PayPal First Access presale opening on July 29.
Both bands bring extensive touring histories to the 2027 itinerary. System of a Down recently wrapped a European and U.K. tour and headlined April’s Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas. Faith No More last toured Australia in 2015 supporting the final edition of Soundwave.
Catalogue Legacy and Commercial Standing
System of a Down maintain significant commercial presence in the heavy rock genre despite not releasing a new studio album since 2005. That year, the band achieved a rare chart milestone when companion albums Mezmerize (released in May) and Hypnotize (released in November) both debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. This feat made System of a Down the first band since Led Zeppelin in 1970 to secure two No. 1 studio albums within the same calendar year. Mezmerize opened with 453,000 copies sold, while Hypnotize followed with 320,000.
Those releases built upon the success of 2001’s Toxicity, which also debuted at No. 1 and featured singles “Chop Suey!” and “B.Y.O.B.” The latter single earned the band a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. Across their discography, three of their five studio albums opened atop the Billboard 200.
Faith No More, fronted by Mike Patton, established their prominence in the alternative-metal genre with their 1989 breakthrough single “Epic,” which reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped pioneer the rap-rock fusion that would dominate the following decade. Their parent album, The Real Thing, received platinum certification. Following an 18-year hiatus from studio recordings, the Bay Area band released their most recent album, Sol Invictus, in 2015.
