Taiji Val d’Ornel Prepares for 10th Anniversary Season in Bettancourt-la-Ferrée
The Taiji Val d’Ornel martial arts club in Bettancourt-la-Ferrée confirmed its operational stability and future programming during its annual general assembly held July 3 at the Jean-Jaurès complex. Led by president Jean-Pierre Faux, the association reported a membership of 48 individuals, including ten beginners, and confirmed the re-election of its current board of directors to oversee the upcoming 2026-2027 season.
Membership Growth and Operational Activity
According to the association’s annual report, the club maintained a consistent level of activity throughout the 2025-2026 period. The organization delivered 217 hours of instruction focused on taï-chi-chuan and qi gong. Beyond standard weekly sessions, the club expanded its reach through eight specialized training workshops and five dedicated sessions conducted in Chancenay. The meeting, attended by approximately 15 members, included local officials such as Marie Chaumont, president of the Union des sports et loisirs de l’Ornel (Uslo), alongside departmental councilors Rachel Blanc and Mokhtar Kahlal.
2026-2027 Programming and Anniversary Milestones
The club has finalized its calendar for the next season, with classes scheduled to resume on Tuesday, September 15, at the Jean-Jaurès complex. The association will maintain its established training schedule on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Significant upcoming events include:
- Summer Workshop: Scheduled for August 22–23 at Lac du Der.
- Community Engagement: Participation in the Associativa forum and the Uslo flea market on September 6, followed by a return to the Octobre rose awareness campaign.
- Anniversary Celebration: The club is set to mark its 10th anniversary in 2027, an event that will coincide with celebrations for the Chinese New Year.
Governance and Financial Oversight
