Kalushev’s mother received a disturbing message from her son, asking only if he was alive

“Ivaylo never spoke directly about suicide. However, it happened that he often spoke about death. He had a special relationship with it. He was not afraid.” This is written in the testimony given by the mother of Ivaylo Kalushev, who was found dead near Okolchitsa with the two young men, a few days after three of his closest relatives were also found dead in the hut in Petrokhan.

Deyan Iliev was the first to see the three bodies and the burnt hut and gave a signal to the emergency phone. In the testimony, he says that on February 1, shortly before 8:00 in the evening, he received a message from his friend Ivaylo Kalushev. “Farewell my friend. We are very tired and we have no more strength. Go back to Mexico”.

After the message, he tried to call Ivaylo Kalushev, Ivaylo Ivanov, Decho Vasilev and Plamen Statev, but no one picked up their phone or went to the hut because of the heavy snowfall. On the morning of February 2, he received a call from Kalushev’s mother, who said that she received a “worrying message from her son.” At 9:30 he and his wife leave for the hut.

“First I went along the road that runs behind the hut itself and which was used for parking. On this side the hut was on fire only on the side of the roof. I called everyone by name, but no one answered me. I headed for the front entrance of the hut. On this side the hut was burnt. There were smoldering coals and a lot of smoke. About 5-10 m from the entrance, near the big dog’s hut, on the snow, I saw three bodies lying, which They didn’t move. I saw that it was Plamen and Ivailo lying on their backs. All three of them were dead with blood on their heads. I went up the stairs and saw that nothing was visible in the lobby the first floor had a lot of shell casings scattered on the ground, maybe dozens of them, just like in a movie with a big gunfight. The shell casings were up to 4 cm long and 7-8 mm thick, and they were scattered all over the ground. I think the shell casings were longer and certainly thicker,” Deyan said. Nova.

The man gets into the car and starts for the fountain below the lodge. There was a border police patrol on the road. He told what he saw and called 112. During the day he assisted the law enforcement authorities. He volunteered to have swabs taken from both hands. Ivaylo Kalushev also wrote to his mother. Here is her testimony:

“I asked him if he had returned from Strandzha. Around 19:50 I received a strange message from him, in which I only asked him if he was alive. Because of his fascination with Buddhism, we had talked a lot about the topic of death, and his wish was that his death should occur in such a way that he would not be reborn again. Because of all these previous conversations, after Ivaylo’s message, I became worried. I tried to contact his mobile phone immediately, which was switched off.”

Ivaylo’s mother says that he spoke to her about the death. “Ivailo never spoke directly about suicide. However, it happened that he often spoke about death. He had a special attitude towards it. He was not afraid. He did many crazy things over the years. He was cold-blooded about them”.

Decho’s mother also last texted with her son on February 1 around 7 p.m. “Somewhere around 7:07 p.m. I wrote to him, asking: ‘How are you?’ Is it snowing a lot?” Decho immediately replied: “I’m great.” Yes, it’s raining. I went to tell my husband that Decho is fine. Then at 19:39 I texted my son again: “Tuesday will you come?” Because Tuesday was February 3 and Decho had to go to his office. “But he didn’t answer me that night or the next day, which was something that had never happened before. Another thing I can say about my son is that he has never had any kind of firearm.”
