Holiday Shoppers Demand Deals, tanger CEO Says

U.S. shoppers are willing to spend this holiday season – even though consumer confidence is down and people are worried about prices – but only if they find good deals, Tanger CEO Stephen Yalof told CNBC on Tuesday.

“Retailers are discounting to attract shoppers, and people are responding by actually shopping,” Yalof said on CNBCS “Money Movers.”

Yalof explained that Tanger focuses on giving shoppers access to well-known brands at prices that feel consistently good. Stores within Tanger’s outlet centers really pushed promotions during the holidays, which helped keep customers coming and sales strong.
