Tây Ninh Attracts $36 Billion in Investment Commitments

Tây Ninh province granted investment decisions and certificates for over 100 projects totaling approximately 920 trillion dong (nearly $36 billion) during its 2026 investment promotion conference, VNA/CVN reported. The province is currently ranked seventh nationally in Vietnam for its ability to attract foreign direct investment (FDI).

New Projects Begin Construction Following Promotion Conference

The 2026 promotion conference drew roughly 500 investors and corporate representatives. Beyond the 100 projects that received investment decisions, 13 additional projects worth more than 110 trillion dong ($4.5 billion) have already begun construction. During the first nine months of the year, provincial authorities granted new authorizations for 142 national projects totaling nearly 86 trillion dong and 113 FDI projects exceeding $838 million.

Industrial Zones Face Land Shortages as Occupancy Rises

Industrial and complex zones serve as the primary drivers for this growth. Of the 54 created industrial zones, 35 are operational, covering nearly 10,300 hectares with an occupancy rate of 68.24%. Industrial complexes show higher density, with 24 active sites reaching an 84.5% occupancy rate, leaving only about 46 hectares of available land. To address this shortage, the provincial government has ordered the acceleration of new complex developments to increase viable land reserves starting in 2026.

Business Volatility and Private Sector Support

Despite the influx of large-scale capital, local business stability varies. Between January and September 2026, Tây Ninh saw the creation of 5,252 new enterprises, but this was offset by 1,391 companies suspending operations and 733 being dissolved. Truong Van Liêp, director of the provincial finance service, stated that the province is now studying financial incentive mechanisms to attract strategic investors and strengthen support for the private sector.
