Tecno Camon 50 Series Launches in Indonesia with 144Hz Display and 6500mAh Battery

Tecno Mobile has officially introduced the Camon 50 series to the Indonesian market, featuring a 144Hz display, a Sony camera, and a substantial 6,500mAh battery. The series aims to deliver a compelling combination of features and performance for mid-range smartphone users.

Design and Display

The Camon 50 boasts a sleek design with a focus on simplicity, elegance, and style. Available in Moonshadow Black, Malachite Green, and Nebula Titanium, the phone measures just 7.53mm thick. It features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1208 x 2644 pixels) and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, along with a 2800Hz touch sampling rate, ProXDR, and HDR support.

Performance and Storage

Under the hood, the Tecno Camon 50 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate chipset. It comes with configurations of 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM (expandable virtually up to 24GB) and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The device runs on Android 16 with Tecno’s HiOS 16, promising three generations of OS updates and five years of security support.

The Camon 50 emphasizes camera performance, featuring a 50MP Sony LYT-700C main sensor (1/1.56 inch, f/1.8 aperture) with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). The camera supports video recording up to 1080p at 30fps with OIS stabilization. Night photography features include SuperNight, Aqua Mode, and FlashSnap, alongside various AI-powered modes.

A key highlight of the Camon 50 is its large 6,500mAh battery, claimed to provide up to two days of normal use. It supports 45W quick charging and is designed to retain over 80% of its battery health after 1800 charging cycles (approximately five years). The device also includes a bypass charging feature to reduce heat during gaming. Connectivity options include NFC, an IR blaster, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-band Wi-Fi, and an under-display fingerprint sensor.

Durability

The Tecno Camon 50 is built for durability, boasting IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for extreme water and dust resistance, including protection against high-pressure water jets. It also meets the MIL-STD-810H military standard, ensuring resistance to falls from heights of up to 2 meters.
