Tecno Pova 8 Series Launches in Indonesia with Split Specifications and Luxury Edition
Smartphone buyers in Indonesia face a direct choice between battery longevity and processing power as Tecno rolls out its latest mid-range lineup. The company released the Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Edition in early September 2026, according to Compass, while gadget creators and tech channels like Mediotech have detailed the broader specifications of the standard Pova 8 5G and Pova 8 Pro 5G models. Both standard variants hit the Indonesian market carrying identical price tags of Rp 6,000,000 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration, yet diverge sharply in internal hardware.
Hardware Contrasts Between Tecno Pova 8 5G and Pova 8 Pro 5G
The standard Tecno Pova 8 5G prioritizes endurance with an 8,000 mAh battery, which adds physical heft to the device at a thickness of 8.8 mm and a weight of 225 grams, as reported by Sumeks. By contrast, the Pova 8 Pro 5G houses a smaller 6,500 mAh battery, allowing for a slimmer 7.39 mm profile and a lighter 189-gram build. Display technology also separates the two models: the Pova 8 5G relies on an IPS matrix display, whereas the Pova 8 Pro 5G upgrades to an AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution.
Imaging capabilities differ across the lineup as well. The Pova 8 5G uses a 50 MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor without an ultrawide lens, while the Pova 8 Pro 5G features a Sony LYTIA 700C sensor complete with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) alongside an 8 MP ultrawide lens offering a 0.6 field of view. Under the hood, the Pova 8 5G runs on a 6 nm MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, whereas the Pova 8 Pro 5G steps up to a 4 nm MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor paired with a Techno P1 graphic chip.
Lamborghini Collaboration and Special Edition Features
For buyers seeking an aesthetic upgrade over the standard models, the Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Edition brings Italian luxury styling to the mid-range segment. Retailing for Rp 6,3 juta in Indonesia for its single 8 GB and 256 GB configuration, the collaboration device arrives in a jumbo-sized box containing accessories such as an adapter charger, a USB cable, a SIM ejector, and a casing.
The special edition incorporates distinct design choices, including a red-framed triangular camera module, a matching red power button, and a physical shortcut called the “One-Tap Button” located just beneath the power key. This customizable button can be programmed to handle up to 12 different functions, such as launching the camera, turning on the LED flash, translating text, or summoning the Ella AI assistant. The device itself shares the core specifications of the regular Pro variant, including its 6,500 mAh battery with 45-watt fast charging, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display supporting up to a 144 Hz refresh rate, and an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate processor built on a 4 nm process.
