TelevisaUnivision and Apple Partner to Bring Spanish-Language Formula 1 Coverage to U.S. Fans

TelevisaUnivision and Apple have announced a strategic partnership to deliver dedicated Spanish-language coverage of Formula 1 (F1) racing to fans across the United States. This collaboration aims to capitalize on the growing popularity of F1 in the U.S. And cater to the significant Hispanic fan base.

Expanding F1 Access for Spanish-Speaking Viewers

As part of the agreement, Univision, TelevisaUnivision’s U.S.-based network, will simulcast one F1 race during the 2026 season, accompanied by dedicated pre- and post-race programming specifically designed for Spanish-speaking audiences. The specific race to be broadcast will be announced at a later date. TelevisaUnivision will also promote Apple TV’s F1 coverage throughout the season across its various platforms, including race highlights on Univision and TUDN.

Apple’s Exclusive U.S. Rights and Broader Strategy

This partnership comes as Apple holds exclusive broadcasting rights for F1 in the U.S. From 2026 through 2030, a deal reportedly worth around $140 million annually. Apple TV will be the primary platform for all F1 content, including practice, qualifying, Sprint sessions and races. Apple recently entered a broadcast agreement with Netflix to simulcast select F1 programming, with Netflix airing the Canadian Grand Prix live on May 24th. In return, Apple will simulcast the eighth season of Netflix’s Drive to Survive on Apple TV+.

TelevisaUnivision’s Sports Portfolio and F1 Growth

This collaboration enhances TelevisaUnivision’s already robust Spanish-language sports portfolio, which includes rights to Liga MX, Liga MX Femenil, Leagues Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Mexican national teams, Concacaf competitions, Major League Baseball, and the United Soccer League. Marco Liceaga, Senior Vice President of Sports Rights Acquisitions and Commercial Partnerships at TelevisaUnivision, emphasized the growing popularity of F1 in the U.S. And the strong connection Hispanic fans have with the sport. TelevisaUnivision also holds the broadcast rights to F1 in Mexico through the 2028 season.

2026 F1 Season Kickoff

The 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship™ season begins this weekend with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 8th, featuring 24 races concluding in Abu Dhabi in early December.
