Teresa Brady, Bronx Community Leader, Dies at 69
Teresa Brady, a longtime resident of the Bronx, Modern York, and a pillar of the Irish-American community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 69 years old.
Early Life and Immigration
Born on July 27, 1956, in Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo, Ireland, Teresa was the daughter of Joseph and Anne Flynn. In 1975, she immigrated to the Bronx with her brother, Joe, and later settled with her sister, Mary.
Family and Community
Shortly after arriving in New York, Teresa met her future husband, Aidan Brady. They married and built a life together centered on love, faith, and family. Their son, Sean, was a source of immense joy. Teresa is survived by her husband, Aidan; her son, Sean, and his wife, Rosa; her sisters, Mary and Kitty; and her brothers, Liam and Brendan. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Patrick.
Teresa was deeply involved in her parish community at St. Ann’s, generously sharing her time and love. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith, carrying her Irish Catholic roots with pride.
Funeral Arrangements
The family will receive visitors on Sunday, March 1st, 2026, from 3-7 PM at Ruggiero & Sons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, located at 732 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, New York 10704. (www.FRSWFH.com; 914-375-1400).
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Monday, March 2nd, 2026, at Saint Barnabas Church, 409 East 241st Street, Bronx, New York 10470. The service will be livestreamed on the Saint Barnabas Church’s Facebook page.
Following the Mass, Teresa will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, New York 10532.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Teresa’s memory.
