Texas Longhorns Softball Defeats Georgia Bulldogs 6-3 in Series Finale Texas Longhorns softball secured a 6-3 victory over the No. 13 Georgia Bulldogs on April 21, 2026, winning Game 3 of their three-game series at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Ga. The win gave Texas the series victory over the Bulldogs, who entered the game with a 33-12 overall record and 10-7 mark in Southeastern Conference play. Texas improved to 35-7 on the season with the win, whereas Georgia fell to 33-13. The Longhorns scored three runs in the fourth inning and added three more in the eighth to build a 6-0 lead before Georgia plated three runs in the bottom of the eighth. Texas won Game 1 of the series on April 18 by a score of 3-0. The series was played as part of SEC conference play, with both teams ranked in the top 15 nationally entering the weekend. Texas entered the series ranked No. 5 in the NFCA/GoRout poll, while Georgia was ranked No. 13 in the same poll, and No. 12 in D1Softball rankings. Jack Turner Stadium hosted a strong crowd for the weekend series, including a Georgia Softball record attendance of 2,663 for Game 2 on April 20. The venue has served as the home of Georgia softball since its opening and regularly hosts high-attendance SEC matchups. With the series victory, Texas improved its conference record to 11-6, while Georgia fell to 10-7 in SEC play. Both teams remain positioned for strong finishes to the regular season as they prepare for the upcoming SEC Tournament.
