Fiasco Theater and Actors Theatre of Louisville Present Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors”

Actors Theatre of Louisville (ATL) will host Fiasco Theater’s production of William Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors” from March 4–15, 2026, in the Bingham Theatre. This collaboration with The Saunders Collective promises a fresh take on the classic farce, featuring original music and an actor-driven approach.

A New Spin on a Classic

Fiasco Theater, known for its joyful and accessible Shakespearean adaptations, joins forces with The Saunders Collective—a family of multi-talented performers, singers, composers, and producers—to bring new life to “The Comedy of Errors.” The production features original music and lyrics by Heath Saunders and is directed by Ben Steinfeld.

The play centers around two sets of identical twins, separated at birth during a shipwreck, whose paths converge in the same city, leading to a series of hilarious mistaken identities and chaotic misadventures.

Collaboration and Authenticity

This production is notable for its unique collaboration with The Saunders Collective and the inclusion of real-life identical twins, Claire and Alanna Saunders, in the cast. This adds a layer of authenticity to the play’s central theme of mistaken identity. According to Amelia Acosta Powell, Artistic Director of Actors Theatre of Louisville, the collaboration brings “an incredible sense of play, physicality, and ensemble-driven storytelling” to the production.

Tickets for “The Comedy of Errors” are on sale now, starting at $40 for non-members and $12.50 for members. Student and educator tickets are available for $20. Performances will be held in the Bingham Theatre from March 4–15, 2026.
