The Mandalorian’s Musical Universe: A Penn State Lecture and Screening

Following the lecture, attendees will have the opportunity to view select chapters – specifically, Chapters 1-3 – of The Mandalorian, paying close attention to how the music enhances the storytelling.

The music of Star Wars, including The Mandalorian, is renowned for its distinctive style. Composer John Williams’s work has been praised for its ability to create accessible and precise musical pictures , establishing a sonic identity for the franchise. The lecture will likely explore how Ludwig Göransson, the composer for The Mandalorian, builds upon this legacy whereas forging a unique sound for the series.
