## Liepāja Sees significant Increase in Digital Service Usage in 2025
Liepāja municipality data for 2025 reveals a substantial 46.5% increase in the use of digital services. This growth is reflected in both the number of submissions received and the volume of details processed across platforms like the Liepāja city app and e-services portal.
Throughout the year, the municipality received over 48,000 submissions – a 40% jump from the 34,000 received in 2024. As of December 23rd, 48,192 applications, letters, and documents were received, with 35,342 documents dispatched from the municipality.
The Liepāja Central Governance processed 7,795 submissions and sent 2,174 documents. Its Customer Service and Service Center assisted 28,773 residents, with a breakdown of 14,154 in-person and 14,619 remote interactions. Additionally, 410 street trade permits and 129 public event permits were issued, garnering a 92% “excellent” or “good” satisfaction rating from customers.
The “Send a message” feature within the “Liepāja šodara” mobile app experienced a two-thirds increase in messages, totaling 4,311. The majority (97%, or 4,198 messages) concerned issues like street infrastructure, street lighting, territory maintenance, public transport (e-tickets), and public order. Suggestions accounted for 2%, while 24 messages expressed gratitude.
App downloads surged to 50,000 users in 2025, compared to 3,210 in 2023 and 14,345 in 2024. The app is available for download on Google Play and AppStore, with regular updates encouraged for optimal performance.
Following the October 2024 introduction of e-tickets for public transport, registered e-ticket accounts rose to 66,398 in 2025. Mobile app e-tickets proved more popular (43,359 accounts) than e-cards (23,039 accounts), with a combined total of 5.4 million registered trips by December 17th.
Usage of the epakalpojumi.liepaja.lv electronic application system also increased by 48%, reaching 14,841 users – up from 10,036 in 2024 and 7,546 in 2023. The platform now offers 75 e-services,including 35 new services,20 co-financing tenders,and 10 event registrations.
The most popular e-service in 2025 was the application for school supplies allowance, requested 1,062 times.
