Ukrainian media reported the threat of Oreshnik launches

Ukraine is concerned about possible launches of Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missiles (MRBMs).

“The threat of Oreshnik IRBM launches from the Kapustin Yar test site remains until 19.02. There may be more worries.”

writes the Ukrainian Telegram channel “Insider.ua”.

On February 12, Ukrainian media began to actively disseminate reports about the alleged launch of Oreshnik. Lvov was most often mentioned as the intended target. The information appeared at about 13:30 Moscow time, but after 10 minutes the announced alarm was canceled.

Later, Insider.ua clarified that there was no actual launch of Oreshnik. According to the channel, tests of other equipment were probably carried out at the test site.

Neither Kyiv nor Moscow gave official comments on this matter.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that on the night of January 9, the Russian military attacked the Lvov State Aviation Repair Plant using the Oreshnik complex. Lvov Mayor Andrei Sadovoy then announced serious consequences for Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
