Celebrate Lunar New Year at The Wallis Annenberg Centre for the Performing Arts

The wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing arts will host a day of family-kind events on Saturday, January 17, 2026, to celebrate the Lunar New Year, also known as the Spring Festival. The festivities include a theatrical performance and a free outdoor festival.
“The Great Race” Performance
At 11 a.m.and 2 p.m.,the Lovelace Studio Theater will present “The Great Race,” a ticketed performance by the Honolulu Theatre for Youth. Directed and written by Reiko Ho, the show tells the story of the Chinese Zodiac and how each animal earned its place in the 12-year cycle. The performance blends conventional movement, music, and martial arts to create a vibrant and engaging experience for families. Honolulu Theatre for Youth brings this beloved tale to life.
Family Fest Celebrating Lunar New Year
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Wallis’ outdoor grounds will be transformed into a Lunar New Year celebration with Family Fest. This free event offers a variety of activities, including immersive arts and crafts, traditional foods, and performances. Attendees can expect to experience the sights, sounds, and traditions of the Chinese New Year.

Family Fest will feature performances by:
- Qing Wei Lion and Dragon Dance Cultural Troupe
- cold Tofu Improv Comedy Troupe
- Beverly Hills Public Library
- The City of Beverly hills Community Services Department
Guests can also participate in learning Kung Fu and creating origami,among other activities.
