Thunder Edge Knicks in High-Scoring Contest, Hornets Continue Winning Streak

The Oklahoma City Thunder secured a narrow 103-100 victory over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night, fueled by strong performances from Chet Holmgren and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets extended their winning streak to six games with a dominant 118-89 win against the Boston Celtics.

Thunder Outlast Knicks in Thrilling Matchup

Chet Holmgren led the Thunder with 28 points and eight rebounds, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 26 points in his return after a nine-game absence. Holmgren tied a career high with six 3-pointers and Lu Dort contributed 16 points.

The Knicks mounted a strong comeback in the third quarter, outscoring the Thunder 40-23, but Oklahoma City regained the lead early in the fourth and held on for the win. Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby both missed potential game-tying 3-point attempts in the final seconds.

Karl-Anthony Towns recorded 17 points and 17 rebounds for the Knicks. Brunson finished with 16 points and a season-high 15 assists, despite shooting 5-for-18 from the field. Anunoby also scored 16 points.

Hornets Dominate Celtics, Extend Winning Streak

The Charlotte Hornets continued their impressive run with a decisive 118-89 victory over the Boston Celtics. Kon Knueppel led the Hornets with 20 points, while Brandon Miller and LaMelo Ball each added 18 points. Coby White chipped in with 17 points and six assists, helping Charlotte surpass the .500 mark for the first time since October 26.

The Hornets maintained a lead throughout the game, building a margin of up to 29 points. They committed only five turnovers.

Derrick White led the Celtics with 29 points, and Jaylen Brown added 20 points and 11 rebounds. Although, Boston’s three-game winning streak was halted as they shot just 38% from the field and turned the ball over 16 times.

Looking Ahead

The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. The New York Knicks will visit the Denver Nuggets on Friday to commence a five-game road trip.
