Haie Defeat Straubing Tigers 2-0

We won a tough game against the Straubing Tigers 2-0, earning our fifth win in the last six games. janne Juvonen recorded his third shutout in his ninth game for the Haie. The first goals didn’t come until the third period. Oliwer Kaski scored with a powerful shot, and Patrick Russell added an empty-net goal just seconds before the game ended.

The game at the sold-out ice stadium was close and intense from the start, with the Tigers having a slight edge in the first period. In the fourth minute, the Tigers thought they scored through justin Scott, but a review showed Scott had interfered with our goalie, Janne Juvonen, before the play. The goal was disallowed.

After successfully killing off a Bayern power play, we started to create more scoring chances. Regrettably, we couldn’t capitalize on a strong shift in the eleventh minute – Maxi Kammerer and Veli-Matti vittasmäki both missed the net due to good defense from Straubing’s goalie, Henrik Haukeland.

We were also lucky when Wade Allison’s shot hit the crossbar in the twelfth minute. Straubing had a good opportunity in the fifteenth minute but missed three chances, and Juvonen made a strong save. Not much else happened, so the first period ended scoreless.

In the second period,we played better and started to relieve the pressure from Straubing. Oliwer kaski and Frederik Storm created a good chance, but Storm’s deflection didn’t trouble haukeland. The Tigers remained dangerous, with Stefan Loibl’s shot going over the goal.
