The Club de Judo Tigres de YMCA in Valencia, Carabobo state, marks its second anniversary with regional success and national medal counts, according to statements from sensei Milagros Aguilar reported by regional media outlets including ACN.
Operating out of the Colegio YMCA Valencia, the club runs training sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Led by senseis Milagros Aguilar and Ronald Alvarenga, the organization has quickly established itself among the top programs in the Carabobo region.
National Achievements and Medalists
- Grehiskar Alvarenga: Bicampeona nacional in the Infantil “A” category (-34 kg), following wins at the National Championship and the Juegos Deportivos Nacionales Comunales.
- Enyer Valero: Gold medalist at the Juegos Deportivos Nacionales Comunales and silver medalist in the Infantil “A” (+52 kg) national division.
- Xavier Henríquez: Third-place finisher in the Infantil “A” (+52 kg) national division.
- Marsella González: Infantil prospect who placed near the podium in national championships and collected multiple medals across regional cups.
In the preinfantil divisions, Rohicer Alvarenga transitioned to the Infantil “A” category after securing multiple regional titles. Additional standouts include Isaac Machacón (Preinfantil “B”), Mathias Flores, Raymundo Díaz, Natalia Cárdenas, and Paula Hernández. In the cadet division, Ember Valero earned third place in the +90kg national tournament, securing a spot in the Juegos Nacionales Juveniles.
Upcoming Aragua Competition and Schedule
Ten club athletes qualified for the National Championships originally scheduled for August, which were postponed due to seismic activity in Venezuela, as noted by ACN. Training at the YMCA facility continued uninterrupted.
The club prepares to send 16 athletes to compete in an Aragua state Copa Nacional on Saturday, September 5. Leadership awaits updates to the Federación Venezolana de Judo (Fevejudo) calendar for subsequent national tournaments, expressing gratitude to YMCA Valencia executive director Elías Polo and the board of directors for their institutional support.
Ininitiation Program and Community Outreach
Sensei Milagros Aguilar opened registration for children aged 8 to 13, targeting beginners and youth dealing with sedentary lifestyles or weight management challenges. The initiative focuses on building physical health, confidence, and discipline through structured martial arts training.
