Indonesian Honorary Consul Composes Patriotic Song for Ghana’s Black Stars Ahead of 2026 World Cup

Ghana’s national football team, the Black Stars, have received a boost of support from an unexpected source: H.E. Paskal A.B. Rois, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia to Ghana, too known as Togbe Afrika. Rois has composed a patriotic song, “Travel GO GO BLACKSTARS,” aimed at inspiring the team and uniting Ghanaians as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A Return to Music with a Diplomatic Touch

After a 15-year hiatus from music to focus on education and business ventures, Rois felt compelled to return to his first love and contribute to the national spirit surrounding the World Cup. He presented a copy of the song to the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, who lauded it as “beautiful and impactful” as reported by MyJoyOnline.

Song Designed for Timelessness and Unity

Rois explained that his diplomatic background influenced the song’s composition. As Honorary Consul, he regularly promotes both Ghana and Indonesia, and sought to create a song with global appeal. To ensure lasting relevance, he deliberately avoided mentioning specific players or politicians according to an interview with Graphic Showbiz. The song aims to restore faith in the Black Stars, motivate the players, and unite the nation.

Beyond Football: Promoting Ghana Globally

“GO GO GO BLACKSTARS” also seeks to showcase Ghana’s tourist attractions and natural resources, promoting tourism, and investment. Rois hopes the song will demonstrate the power of combining creativity and diplomacy to promote Ghana on the world stage as he stated in a recent interview.

A Musical Background

Togbe Afrika’s musical journey began in 1999, with the release of three albums: Danye Sidzima (hiplife), Dela Yesu (Gospel), and Kpedenutor (highlife). He is also the founder of Rig Oil International Services (ROIS) LTD, an upstream oil and gas company as noted on his LinkedIn profile.

The song is currently being considered by the technical committee responsible for selecting official World Cup songs MyJoyOnline reports. A music video for “GO GO GO BLACKSTARS” is also available and is being promoted across social media platforms as seen on LinkedIn and Facebook.
