The back of the Toulon Rugby club Melvyn Jaminet attempted a challenge that suits him rather well: a penalty of around eighty meters. A feat he achieved with the wind caused by storm Nils.
If storm Nils causes disruptions throughout France, on the RCT side, we decided to use it to have fun and try a challenge: an 80-meter goal kick. A challenge cut out for the rear of the RCT with a mammoth kick, Melvyn Jaminet. The thrush team’s scorer is used to these long-distance kicks. The French international positioned the ball – held by Matéo Garcia – a little beyond the opposing 22 meters and set off.
Well carried by a powerful wind at his back (gusts were measured at 130 km/h), the Toulonnais managed to tame the wind to pass the ball between the poles. “Too easy for Melvyn Jaminet, wrote the RCT account on Instagram. 80 meter penalty successful. With a little help.” For the Clermont reception this weekend, it would be useful if this kind of kick was still successful at the back of the RCT.
