Trader Joe’s and Shake Shack to Anchor New Medley Development in Johns Creek, Georgia
JOHNS CREEK, GA – A new mixed-use development, The Medley, is coming to Johns Creek, Georgia, bringing with it a Trader Joe’s grocery store and a Shake Shack restaurant. The 43-acre project, located at the intersection of Johns Creek Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road, is set to transform a former State Farm Insurance office hub into a vibrant community space.
The Medley: A Mixed-Use Development
The Medley will feature 164,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space, alongside 833 luxury townhomes and apartments. A 150-room boutique hotel, named The Hotel at Medley, is also planned, with an anticipated opening in 2028. The development will also include 110,000 square feet of lifestyle office space and a 25,000-square-foot plaza.
Trader Joe’s Expansion in Metro Atlanta
Trader Joe’s is adding another location to the metro Atlanta area with this new store. The grocer has been expanding its presence in Georgia, with recent openings in Peachtree City, Alpharetta, Athens, Atlanta, Marietta, Norcross, Peachtree City, Roswell, and Sandy Springs. A potential location in Decatur is also being discussed, and a petition is underway to bring a store to Atlantic Station following the closure of the Publix location there. Atlanta News First reported the Johns Creek location will open in 2026.
Shake Shack Joins the Lineup
Shake Shack will be among the restaurants at The Medley, joining other announced concepts such as Sephora, High Country Outfitters, BODYROK, Petfolk, CRÚ Food & Wine Bar, Fadó Irish Pub, Summit Coffee, Five Daughters Bakery, Drybar Shops, Minnie Olivia Pizzeria, and Clean Your Dirty Face. Project Timeline
Construction on The Medley began in January 2026, and the development is slated to open around October 29, 2026. Hoodline reports the opening date.
