Travis Scott Expands into Acting with Role in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’

Travis Scott is stepping into the world of film acting, appearing in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic, The Odyssey. The rapper’s casting was revealed in a recently released teaser trailer, marking a significant move for the artist beyond music.

A Mythic Role in a Nolan Epic

The one-minute teaser, which aired during the AFC Championship game on January 25, showcases Scott in a dramatic role connected to Homer’s classic tale, the Odyssey. He delivers a powerful line, hinting at a character deeply involved in the events of the Trojan War: “A war, a man, a trick — a trick to break the walls of Troy. It burning, screaming to the ground.” The trailer features scenes depicting the Trojan War as Scott’s character repeatedly strikes the ground with a staff.

Star-Studded Cast and Past Collaboration

Scott joins a highly acclaimed cast including Matt Damon as Odysseus, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Benny Safdie, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, and others. This marks a further collaboration between Scott and Nolan, following their work together on the 2020 film Tenet. Scott contributed the song “THE PLAN” to the Tenet soundtrack, with Nolan praising Scott’s “immediate, insightful and profound” contributions to the film’s musical and narrative structure GQ.

Expanding Beyond Music

While Scott’s previous acting experience has primarily been within his own music videos, this role signifies a broader expansion into the film industry. The Odyssey is scheduled for release on July 17.
