Hegseth Clarifies Comments on Boat Strike

Hegseth clarified comments he gave in September following the September 2nd incident involving a suspected drug boat. He initially claimed he witnessed the attack live.

At the time, neither Hegseth nor the White House disclosed that a second strike was authorized on the vessel.

when questioned about survivors of the second strike, Hegseth restated that he did observe the initial strike firsthand, but did not witness the subsequent attack, nor did he personally see any survivors.

“As you can imagine, the Department of War has a lot of things going on,” Hegseth stated.
