trump Designates Fentanyl as a Weapon of Mass destruction

Jakarta – President of the United States Donald Trump signed an executive order classifying fentanyl as weapons of mass destruction. This action occurred on Monday, December 15th, as his administration intensified its campaign against drug cartels in Latin America.

“No bomb could do what this does — 200,000-300,000 people die every year, at least that’s what we know,” Trump stated while signing the executive order, placing fentanyl in the same category as nuclear and chemical weapons.

Though, the US Centers for Disease Control and prevention reports different figures. Their data indicates an estimated total of around 80,000 drug overdose deaths in the US by 2024, with approximately 48,000 of those attributed to synthetic opioids like fentanyl.
