TuS Eichengrün Kamen Judo: Early Season Successes and Championship Qualifications

The Judo team of TuS Eichengrün Kamen has demonstrated promising results in early 2026, with athletes competing in district and regional championships across the U11, U15, and U18 age groups. Several judoka have secured championship titles and qualified for further competition.

U11 Age Group: Uncontested Champions

Lilly Rasel (-28 kg) and Pia Bienas (-48 kg) from the U11 age group became district champions due to limited participation in their respective weight classes. Both athletes were the sole competitors in their categories, earning them the title without a contest.

U13 Age Group: Competitive Tournament Performance

Jayden Becker (-43 kg) competed in a district tournament for the U13 age group, achieving second place with one win and one loss. Calina Alexei and Victoria Jurcut faced each other in the -48 kg weight class, engaging in a “Best of Three” match. After a tied score of one win apiece, Calina Alexei ultimately won the decisive third encounter based on the judges’ decision.

U15 Age Group: Determination and Qualification

Lenny Szallnaß (-50 kg) secured third place in the U15 age group. Despite initial defeats, he persevered to win his final, challenging match. Felix Lente (-66 kg) finished in second place after facing a single opponent he couldn’t overcome. Giray Can (-34 kg) competed in his second tournament, gaining valuable experience against more seasoned athletes, but did not place. Titus Michel (-60 kg) was declared district champion due to a lack of opponents in his weight class.

Qualification for Regional Championships

All judoka who placed in the district championships have qualified to compete in the regional championships, which were held in early February at the team’s home venue. Over 400 participants competed in the U11, U15, and U18 age groups during the two-day event. Although the Kamen judoka gained valuable competition experience, they did not achieve any further placements at the regional level.

Recent Kyu-Prüfung Successes

On December 3, 2025, thirteen judoka from TuS Eichengrün Kamen successfully completed their Kyu-Prüfung (grading examination), earning higher belt levels. Pia Bienas and Matilda Megyesi achieved their first belt, earning the white-yellow belt. Hootan Atai, Victoria Jurcut, Giray Can, and Dima Basauer earned the yellow belt. Calina Alexei, Ilija Reis, Tristan Schiereck, Neven Berger, and Ronya Munier achieved the orange belt, while Jonathan Munier and Jayden Becker earned the orange-green belt.^[1]

New Brown Belt Holders

Matilda Rüping, Philipp Küper, and Yannik Rasel have recently been awarded the brown belt, the highest student grade in Judo. ^[4]
