Affected regions include Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Southern Leyte, and Mindanao. Specific forecasts include 25 to 33 degrees Celsius in Zamboanga, 25 to 31 degrees Celsius in both Cebu and Cagayan de Oro, 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in Iloilo, and 26 to 32 degrees Celsius in Tacloban.

Meteorologists stated the typhoon is not expected to enter the PAR as it continues its trajectory toward Japan. This follows an earlier report on Oct. 3 when the storm was located 2,580 kilometers east of Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 140 kph and gusts of 170 kph, moving northeastward at 20 kph. Villamil stated in English and Filipino, “It is far from our country and it will not enter our PAR.”

The system was first spotted as a tropical cyclone on Oct. 1, located 3,185 kilometers east of Central Luzon as of 4 p.m. the previous day. At that time, it moved northwestward at 15 kph with winds of 45 kph and gusts of 55 kph.

Weather Outlook for Other Regions

While the Visayas and Mindanao faced the effects of the trough, Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon were expected to experience generally fair weather from Monday to Wednesday. This includes Baguio and Legazpi, though localized thunderstorms may occur during the afternoon and evening. Parts of the Visayas, including Cebu, Iloilo and Tacloban, may also see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms during this period.

Across the rest of the country, Pagasa reported generally fair weather, interrupted only by isolated thunderstorms. Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas were expected on Sunday. No gale warnings were raised over the country’s seaboards as of Sunday morning, although offshore thunderstorms may cause sudden increases in wave heights and winds.
