U2 will headline the halftime show for the NFL’s first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game, performing at SoFi Stadium when the Los Angeles Rams host the Green Bay Packers on November 25, 2026. The matchup will stream live globally on Netflix.

U2 Returns to the NFL Stage at SoFi Stadium

Irish rock band U2 is heading to SoFi Stadium for the first time to perform during an NFL game, marking their first appearance on a football halftime stage in nearly 25 years. The performance anchors the league’s debut Wednesday night game before Thanksgiving, pitting the Los Angeles Rams against the Green Bay Packers on November 25, 2026.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos emphasized the band’s extensive stadium history in a statement. There’s a reason U2 has headlined stadiums for decades: they don’t just perform, they deliver iconic moments audiences remember forever, Sarandos said. We’re thrilled that they’ll bring that same magic to the NFL stage on Netflix. Netflix confirmed that the halftime production will feature special guests and will be produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment.

Netflix and NBC Broadcast Thanksgiving Eve Game

Coverage for the Thanksgiving Eve matchup begins at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The game is included in all active Netflix subscriptions and will be available in more than 200 countries with audio tracks in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and German.

Local viewers in the competing teams’ home markets can catch a broadcast on NBC-owned stations or affiliates, while fans across the U.S. can also watch on mobile and tablet devices via NFL+. NBC Sports will produce the pregame and postgame shows, with EverWonder Studio serving as an executive producer for Netflix.

U2 Celebrates 50th Anniversary with Halftime Show

U2’s upcoming performance expands on Netflix’s growing tradition of marquee holiday football entertainment. The platform previously featured Beyoncé during the Baltimore Ravens versus Houston Texans Christmas game in 2024, and Snoop Dogg during the Detroit Lions versus Minnesota Vikings Christmas Day game last year.

The landmark booking coincides with the band’s 50th anniversary since forming in Dublin in 1976 at Mount Temple Comprehensive School, where singer Bono, lead guitarist the Edge, bass player Adam Clayton, and drummer Larry Mullen Jr. first gathered. The 22-time Grammy Award winners and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are also releasing their 16th studio album, Carnival de Luz, on November 13.

U2 Returns to NFL Halftime Since Super Bowl XXXVI

The only prior occasion U2 performed during an NFL halftime show occurred on February 3, 2002, at Super Bowl XXXVI. During that game at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, the New England Patriots defeated the St. Louis Rams 20–17 on a game-winning 48-yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri as time expired. That performance took place months after the September 11 attacks, featuring a scrolling projection of victims’ names while Bono opened his jacket to reveal an American flag.

SoFi Stadium, built by Rams Owner and Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke, opened in 2021 and has since hosted major entertainment acts including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Bad Bunny, Los Bukis, Karol G, and BTS. The venue has hosted eight World Cup matches this past summer, and is scheduled to host Super Bowl LXI on February 14, 2027, and the opening ceremonies and swimming events for the 2028 Summer Olympics.
