A University of Alabama student, James Paul Gracey, also known as “Jimmy,” has been reported missing in Barcelona, Spain, while on spring break. The 22-year-old from Elmhurst, Illinois, was last seen early Tuesday morning, March 17, 2026, near the Shôko nightclub, a popular venue located on the beachfront.

Last Known Sighting and Description

According to his mother, Therese Gracey, Jimmy was last seen around 3:40 a.m. Local time outside Shôko. He was reportedly wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants, and a gold chain with a rhinestone cross. He is described as approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 175 pounds.

Family and the University of Alabama are actively involved in efforts to locate Gracey.
