Bucks County Uber Driver Charged With Indecent Assault in Bristol Borough

A Bucks County Uber driver faces criminal charges after police say he sexually assaulted a female passenger following a ride in Bristol Borough, WPVI reported. Wael Hagag was arraigned and released after posting $10,000 bail on Wednesday afternoon, facing charges of indecent assault and harassment following the late April incident.

Court documentation shows that following an evening out in Bristol Borough, the woman and her partner at the time ordered an ride-sharing vehicle. When they reached their drop-off point on Mill Street located within the historic area, the fiancé momentarily walked away, leaving the female passenger by herself. Police allege the assault occurred during that brief window.

Investigators state that Hagag exited the vehicle, approached the woman from behind, and proceeded to place his hands underneath her dress and shirt area, touching intimate parts of her body without consent. When the victim called for help, Hagag ran back to his vehicle and drove away. Investigators identified Hagag through his Uber driver profile, Pennsylvania registration records, and a photo lineup. Hagag declined to comment when contacted by a coworker at a nearby pizza shop on behalf of Action News, and he is scheduled to return to court on October 21.

Uber confirmed that Hagag has been banned from the platform following the report. “The details of this report are very disturbing, and as soon as we were made aware of the incident, we banned the driver from the Uber platform,” the company said in a statement, noting that their team is assisting law enforcement.
