UCLA Men’s Volleyball Wins Ninth MPSF Tournament Title Over USC The UCLA men’s volleyball program secured its ninth MPSF Tournament Championship on Saturday, defeating crosstown rival USC in a four-set victory. The Bruins improved to 29-1 on the season with the win, claiming their first conference tournament title since 2023. UCLA took the opening set 25-23 after surviving a tight exchange that saw multiple lead changes. USC responded by winning the second set 25-22 to even the match. The Bruins regained control in the third set, prevailing 28-26 in a tightly contested frame. UCLA closed out the victory with a 26-24 win in the fourth set. Senior setter Andrew Rowan was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player after recording 42 assists and leading UCLA to a .271 hitting percentage. Rowan was joined on the all-tournament team by teammates Sean Kelly and Zach Rama. Kelly contributed 12 kills in the championship match, while Rama led all players with 18 kills. The victory marked UCLA’s third win over USC this season and extended the Bruins’ dominance in the rivalry. With the tournament title, UCLA automatically qualified for the NCAA men’s volleyball championship.
