Ugg Revives Fluff Yeah Slide with Sci-Fi Campaign and Anti-AI Stance

Ugg, the renowned footwear brand, is reintroducing its popular Fluff Yeah slide for a limited time, responding to sustained consumer demand. The revival is accompanied by a new Spring 2026 campaign featuring comedian and actress Atsuko Okatsuka, and a deliberate emphasis on handcrafted production over artificial intelligence.

Campaign Inspired by Sci-Fi Classics

The campaign draws inspiration from classic science fiction films such as “Attack of the 50 Foot Woman” and “Godzilla.” Atsuko Okatsuka stars in the campaign, depicted in a miniaturized version of Los Angeles, sporting the Fluff Yeah slide. The visual concept was brought to life through a meticulously handcrafted miniature city, complete with an Ugg-inspired Hollywood sign, built by Tastebuds Studio over a month-long construction period and nearly two months of pre-production planning.

Atsuko Okatsuka: The Ideal Campaign Face

Lindsey Dashoff, Vice President of Marketing at Ugg North America, explained that Atsuko Okatsuka was chosen for her bold style, authentic self-expression, and comedic timing. “Atsuko has a really unapologetic and bold sense of style that connects well to our Fluff Yeah collection and our brand ethos of making self-expression comfortable,” Dashoff stated. Okatsuka herself expressed a personal connection to the Fluff Yeah, recalling owning and wearing a pair until they wore out in 2018, describing them as “walking on clouds.” She also highlighted the brand’s focus on comfort and individuality, aligning with her own approach to comedy and style.

Ugg’s Anti-AI Stance and Tactile Branding

Notably, Ugg intentionally eschewed generative AI and digital tools in the campaign’s production, opting for a fully handcrafted set. Dashoff emphasized that this decision reflects Ugg’s identity as a tactile brand. “We’re a brand that you have to touch and feel, so it felt natural to lean into a handcrafted set,” she said. This approach underscores the brand’s commitment to a tangible, sensory experience for its customers.

Availability and Retail Partners

The revived Fluff Yeah slide will be available for a limited time through Ugg’s website and select retail partners, including Urban Outfitters, Foot Locker, and Nordstrom. The campaign will be promoted across digital, social, and out-of-home placements in New York and Los Angeles.

Pop-Up Experience

Consumers can experience the Fluff Yeah revival in person at a pop-up event in Venice Beach, running from March 18–19.
