Passport Updates and Requirements
Ukrainian citizens aged 25 and 45 are required to update the photo in their passport booklets. A one-month period is provided to fulfill this requirement. Alternatively, the passport booklet can be replaced with a modern ID card.
Failure to update the photo within the specified timeframe renders the passport invalid, potentially resulting in a fine of 17 to 51 UAH for repeat offenses within a year.
ID Card Validity
Unlike the older passport booklets, ID cards have an expiration date:
- Ages 14-18: Valid for 4 years
- Ages 18+: Valid for 10 years
Expired ID cards must be replaced, incurring the fees outlined above.
