Ukraine: Utility Prices Rise in 2025, electricity Tariff Holds Steady Until April 2026
Kyiv, Ukraine – January 18, 2026 – Utility prices in Ukraine have seen increases in 2025, according to data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine (Gosstat).However, the electricity tariff remains fixed for now.
Services with Stable Tariffs:
The following utility services have maintained their prices:
* Electricity
* Natural Gas
* Hot Water
* Heating
Price Changes in 2025 (January-December 2025 vs. January-December 2024):
the most significant price increase was observed in electricity, rising by 19.3%. Other services experiencing price hikes include:
* Management services for apartment buildings: 13.5%
* Garbage collection: 8.4%
* Maintenance and repair of housing: 3.5%
* Water supply: 0.7%
* Sewerage: 0.6%
Electricity Tariff – current and Future Outlook:
Currently, the electricity tariff is fixed at UAH 4.32 per 1 kWh and will remain so until at least April 30, 2026.This is based on a government decision (https://www.kmu.gov.ua/npas/pro-vnesennia-zmin-do-postanovy-kabinetu-ministriv-ukrainy-vid-5-chervnia-2019-r-483-1331-221025) extending the validity of the special obligations mechanism (“SRO”) for market participants.
While reports of potential future electricity price changes occasionally surface, no concrete plans are currently under serious consideration.
Gas Safety Reminder:
Ukrainians with gas stoves are advised to install gas alarms to monitor air quality. These devices are available for purchase at prices ranging from 1,225 to 2,200 UAH.
