Set during the initial encirclement of a city, Hollow Home casts players as Maxim, a 14-year-old boy attempting to survive day by day without engaging in traditional combat mechanics, according to Twigames development disclosures. Rather than using weapons, players manage resources, converse with characters, and make choices that alter the environment and determine the fates of non-player characters. The narrative draws heavily from real events documented during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, incorporating the firsthand experiences of the Kyiv development team as they continued production amid ongoing hostilities.
Crowdfunding Stretches and Archival Audio Integration
Funds secured through Kickstarter will finance additional game content, including two new in-game outfits for protagonist Maxim, funded by crossing the initial stretch target. Furthermore, Twigames established a partnership with Ukrainian Radio, the country’s public broadcaster operating since 1924. The collaboration brings actual archival audio recordings from the early days of the full-scale invasion into the game’s soundscape to ground the atmosphere in verified historical reality.
